The archaeological museum in Zadar was founded in the 1830’s and is the second oldest museum in Croatia. The museum’s collections cover the historical periods from the Palaeolithic age to the eleventh century and contain over 100,000 items. The collections include Liburnian gravestones and Croatian stone works from the now demolished St. Lawrence’s church.
