The Arena Park is so named because it is close by to the Arena in Pula. It was designed in the 1930s during the rule of the Italians. The Arena Park is often commented upon as being extremely beautiful. There are plenty of annuals to be found within the park, as well as privet, box, Lavender, and protected species such as yew and holly. There used to be a monument dedicated to Emperor Augustus but this was removed at the end of the Italian rule.
