The art pavilion in Zagreb was purposely built for exhibitions to be held inside the building, and was first constructed in Budapest and then transported to Zagreb. The building was opened in 1898 and has held regular exhibitions for Croatian artists ever since. As well as holding exhibitions on art, cultural projects are also a regular feature. The art pavilion is said to be the central place for Croatian fine art events in the country.
