The Biograd Na Moru local history museum was founded in 1973 and contains an extensive archaeological and ethnographic department as well as an art collection. Notable items of interest in the museum are from a sixteenth century sunken merchant ship. The town was an important base for Croatian medieval kings in the eleventh century however Biograd was burnt to the ground in 1125.
