Blaca monastery or Blaca Hermitage is at the top of the Vidova Gora valley. The monastery was founded in the 1580s by Glagolitic monks who were fleeing the Turks. Blaca Hermitage became well known as an astronomic observatory in the 1930s when Niko Milicevic resided here and collected clocks and Poussin lithographs. The building contains Baroque furniture and has become a pilgrimage centre each year.
