The Cakovec museum of Medimurje was founded in 1954 as the municipal museum and it is an important monument of culture and history. There are almost 19,000 different items from Medimurje. The archaeological department includes items from recovered from local archaeological sites. The cultural-historical exhibition includes a former Renaissance fortress. There is a collection of local coats of arms in the historical department and the ethnographic collection has displays about the seasons and the customs attached to them.
