The museum is situated in the former renaissance and gothic palace of the Papalic family and in the sixteenth century this was home to the family’s roman stone monuments that were found at Salona. The museum moved into the palace in 1952 and it includes cultural and historical exhibits. There is also a gallery dedicated to Emanuel Vidovic who painted modern art.
