The Croatian History Museum was founded in 1846 and it was formerly the National Museum. The museum is situated within the eighteenth century palace of Vojkovic-Orsic-Rauch. The museum holds a varied collection of over 140,000 objects that date from the middle ages to the present day. These objects include edged weapons, paintings, medals and the Varia collection, and they are divided into fifteen different named collections. The museum has published catalogues available relating to these collections.
