Zmajeva spilja (the Dragon’s Cave) is named as such because of a relief of the dragon inside. These are related to the Glagolitic friars who turned this cave into a temple in the fifteenth century. As well as dragon reliefs there are also relief of Madonna, angels and the moon. These are thought to be Christian iconographs and these may possibly contains some elements of Slavic mythology.
