The Dubrovnik City Museum is housed in the Rector’s Palace. The Rector’s Palace is the former residence of the Prince of the Dubrovnik Republic. A fortress was first built here in the thirteenth century and was turned into a palace in the fourteenth century. The Rector’s Palace has been reconstructed many times into the building it is now. The museum has collections of photography, coins, furniture, ceramics, icons and textiles. These all date from the time of the Dubrovnik Republic.
