The ethnographic museum in Zagreb was founded in 1919 in the former Trade and Crafts Museum, and Secessionist Palace. The museum holds collections of over 85,000 items that belong to Croatian culture. The textiles section of the museum is the largest and there is also an extensive collection of photographs. The museum also holds a permanent exhibition on Croatian folk costumes and national costume that were all handmade. The collections are divided into 3 cultural zones: the Adriatic, Dinaric and Pannonian.
