Fort Lovrijenac is a fourteenth century fortress that stands just outside the city on a steep cliff beside the sea. The fort looks over the two main entrances to the city. It has a triangular shape with two drawbridges. The fort has recently been used as a theatre for plays such as Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
