The Franciscan Church and Monastery of Sv. Spirit is the oldest church in Pozega. These date from the 13th century when the Franciscans first arrived in Pozega. The church was first dedicated to Dimitry but became a mosque after the Turks destroyed the monastery. The courtyard has been excavated to find thirteenth century pottery. The interior of the church contains baroque altars and paintings. Some famous Croatians are buried in the cemetery and there is a large collection of books in the library.
