The Gliptotheque Sculpture Museum in Zagreb was founded in 1937 and it was started in order to display plaster copies of the immovable monuments in Croatia. The museum contains 13,000 items and it is located in a former tannery that was built in 1864. There is a sculpture park alongside the museum which contains additional sculptures. Many of the works are donations. Of noticeable interest are the copies of eleventh to sixteenth century frescoes.
