The Herzer Palace is a Classicist palace and holds the Municipal Museum’s entomological department. The department was opened in 1954 and the initial collection was donated by Franjo pl. Koscec in 1959. The displays of insects include their biology, development, and nesting sites. There are also enlarged models of some insects created by Franjo and Ruzica Koscec. The department also includes a herbarium and information about Croatia’s fauna. The entomological collection also includes almost every type of butterfly from the local area.
