The Historical Museum of Istria is located in a former Venetian fortification and was founded in 1955 as the Museum of the Revolution but was renamed in 1961. The museum stores items relating to national heritage which all date from after the Middle Ages to present day. There are departments specific to Pula, medieval Istria, postcards, photographs, coins, insignias, memoirs, maps, uniforms etc.. There are both permanent and temporary exhibitions held here.
