The HPT museum was founded in 1953 by the Postal Management Steering Committee in Zagreb to preserve materials and objects related to the development of the postal and telecommunications service. The museum holds a cartographic collection of over 500 maps and a patriotic war collection. The museum’s permanent display features objects from Roman times to present day stamps. The museum includes a private library that holds 7,000 volumes that relate to philatelic interest.
