The Hvar Heritage Museum was founded in 2000 and comprises of the Hanibal Lucic’s Summer Palace, the archaeological collection and lipidarium of Dr. Giga Novak in Saint Mark’s church, the arsenal gallery of contempary art and the history theatre of Hvar. Hanibal Lucic’s Summer Palace was constructed in 1530 in the Renaissance style. Hanibal Lucic was an enthusiastic poet. The theatre of Hvar was erected in 1612 and was the first public theatre in Europe.
