Kamengrad is fort town situated with in the Papuk Nature Park, it is thought to have been constructed in the thirteenth century and was used as a fortress and gentleman’s estate in 1421. The Turks occupied the fortress in 1539 and used it to keep their military that consisted of 35 troopers and 50 infantry. The town has been uninhabited for over 300 years and it is in a semi derelict state. The site is only accessible by foot.
