Land Gate

The construction of the Land Gate, the main entrance to Korcula, was begun in 1391 and took a century to complete. The Revelin was added at this time, a large defensive tower and in 1650; a triumphal arch was also added to commemorate a military leader of Dalmatia who fought during the Candia War.
