Manastirine is a large Christrian community cemetery complete with the remains of basilicas. Manastirine is connected to local legends of the relics belonging to two Salonitan martyrs named Domnio and Anastasius.
The site was first excavated on behalf of Split Archaeological museum. It is an important place for ecclesiastical historians as Dujam was buried here in 304 after being executed during the Diocletian persecutions.
