Mausoleum of the Racic family

The mausoleum was constructed in 1921 for the well known ship owner’s family of Racic from Cavtat. The building was constructed entirely from white stone which originated locally from Brac on top of the site of St Rock’s church. The design of the mausoleum represents the three stages of life: birth, life and death. Bronze was used for the door, angel and bell. Inscribed on the bell is "Comprehend the secret of love, you will solve the secret of death and believe that the life is eternal" written by Ivan Mestrovic, the mausoleum’s architect.
