The Ornithological Collection of Metkovic contains birds collected that have been seen in the nearby nature reserve Neretva. Of the birds that go to Neretva, 218 are in the collection. There are a total of 340 stuffed birds. All the birds are grouped within the collection according to their residence such as swamps, rocks and coppices. Some of these birds include the great white egret, the eagle and herons. Ducks and black coots are the traditional hunting game in Croatia. Some rare birds within the collection include the pink pelican and purple gallinule.
