On Bisevo islet, southwest of Vis, is a grotto that is only accessible by sea. The grotto has been open to the public since the 1880’s. The grotto appears blue when the sun is at its highest and the light that enters the cave through a submerged channel to show a blue glow to the caverns and tunnels. Access is limited to tidal conditions and it is only accessible by boat.
