The ruins of the castle are all that remains of the Frankopan home. The castle was built sometime before 1288 and was pulled down in 1761 because the building cost too much to maintain. The castle was mentioned in the Vinodol code and the owners of the castle were executed in 1761. The coats of arms of the Zrinksi and Frankopan family are visible on the castle remains.
