Panten marshland and swamp is a great place to visit for a daytrip from Trogir or Split. 196 different bird species have been recorded of which 8 nest here. There are 50 hectares of marshland and eight mills that date from the thirteenth century; the whole area has been protected as a nature reserve since the 19th of December 2000. There are plans to renovate the mills as part of an educational and cultural project.
