The Porec Native Museum is thought to be the oldest museum in Istria, dating from 1884 and it is situated within a Baroque Palace called Sincic which dates from the eighteenth century. There are a number of stone monuments with Roman inscriptions and prehistoric archaeological artefacts. The museum has an unusual collection of Woren sculptures dating from the start of the middle ages. There is also a special exhibition dedicated to the Carli family who originated from Kopar.
