The Museum of Pozega was founded in 1924 by Julije Kempf, a local historian. The museum has four departments: Ethnology, Archaeology, History of Art and Local History. These are divided into 16 collections. The museum moved into its present building in 1953. The museum was formally a baroque merchant house that dates from the eighteenth century. Of particular note is the War of Independence Memorial Room of the Pozega region. This holds photographs of defenders killed in the war and a map showing war developments at this time.
