The Arena in Pula dates from the first century BC and it dominates Pula’s skyline with its huge arches and temples. It is the sixth largest amphitheatre in the world and in its day could hold over 22,000 spectators. In fact the Arena could hold more people than the actual inhabitants of Pula. The amphitheatre remained it use until the fifth century. The surrounding arches remain as well as the four towers and three orders.
