The city museum of Rijeka is adjacent to the Maritime and Historical Museum with an arcade between the two containing stone monuments. The museum, founded in 1961, mainly contains items relating to the National Revolution and has recently increased its collection immensely, including items from the National Struggle for Liberation. The museum’s building dates from 1976 and was designed by a notable architect, N. Segvic, in the Mondriani style. The museum includes photographic collections.
