The Rovinj Heritage Museum is located within a Baroque palace that used to be owned by the Califfi counts in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The museum was founded in 1954 and it serves as an art gallery. There are two important memorial rooms dedicated to Vilko Seferof and Alexander Kirscher. Also in the museum are a contemporary art gallery, a master’s room and recent works by local artists. There is an archaeological department and a section dedicated to the maritime traditions of Rovinj.
