St Helen’s Chapel in Senkovec was the shrine of the Pauline Monastery which is devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and All saints. The monastery was founded in 1376 but was mainly destroyed in 1859 and the remaining part in 1880 during an earthquake. Archaeological excavations have taken place next to the existing Gothic chapel and have revealed a sixteenth century mausoleum dedicated to the Zrinksi family. There are remains of Gothic frescoes inside the chapel.
