St Mary of the Rocks is a tiny church close to the village of Beram. It is in a remote location and is renowned for the beautiful late-gothic frescoes upon the walls. These frescoes were commissioned by the fraternity of the church and mostly related to Mary and Jesus. One of the most important frescoes is called Dance of the Dead which includes skeletons, death, knights and bagpipes. The artist was called Vincent of Kastav.
