St Stephen’s Cathedral was erected in the fourteenth century on top of a former Benedictine convent and a sixth century church. The architecture is mainly Gothic with a notable façade similar to Sibenik’s and Dubrovnik’s Renaissance churches. The bell tower’s deign was inspired by Korcula’s cathedral. The cathedral contains paintings by Palma the Younger and Andrea Celest as well as other notable artists. In the south chapel is a Gothic crucifix.
