Stara Susica Castle is situated close to some coniferous woodland close to the village of Stara Susica. It was once owned by the notorious Croatian family the Frankopans. In the nineteenth century the castle was bought by Count Laval Nugent, it was later purchased by some merchants from Rijeka and later restored in the romantic style.
