Temple of Augustus

The Temple of Augustus can be found in the former forum. It was dedicated to the goddess Roma and the Emperor Augustus after he died. The architecture follows the normal pattern for temples built during the Roman Empire. The temple has been used for many different activities including by the pagans and as a museum for stone monuments. Today, after reconstruction in 1944, it contains old bronze and stone sculptures.
