The Franciscan Monastery in Samobor was originally built in the thirteenth century by the order of King Bela IV. The current structure includes elements of the previous church in its walls and was erected in 1721, the church followed in 1733. Inside the church is a fresco of the Assumption of Mary which dates from 1752. Both the church and monastery are important Baroque cultural monuments in Samobor and the Monastery Library holds 3 original pieces of work.
