The museum of Virovitica Municipal museum was opened in 1953 as a native museum and then increased to a municipal museum. The building was constructed in 1800 for the Peljacevic family on the site of a medieval fortress and it is in the Baroque and Classist style. The museum holds five thousand items in collections of archaeology, ethnology, culture/history, visual arts, and Branislav Glumac’s visual arts collection.
