This garden was created by a Dubrovnik nobleman Ivan Gucetic in 1502. The gardens were designed to fit along a terrace above the sea. Here there is a Renaissance garden with a Neptune statue in the centre. In one corner is a nineteenth century folly with excellent views of the coastline. The gardens were confiscated in 1948 by the communist regime and later rescued by the Croatian Academy of Sciences.
