The university library in Rijeka is home to the permanent exhibition of the Glagolitic script. The library was founded in 1626 by the Jesuits who came from Judenburg in Austria. The Glagolitic script exhibition has been held here since 1968 and includes books printed in the North Adriatic area such as books dating from 1494-1496 (Senj). Other collections include rare books relating to Rijeka.
