The museum is divided into four buildings. This is the Stari Grad fortification that dates from the Gothic/renaissance style of architecture. This building is home to the cultural and historical department. There are memorial collections dedicated to Varazdin’s famous citizens: Ivan Kukuljevic Sakcinski and Vatroslav Jagic. The cultural items date from the fourteenth century to the twentieth century and include insignias, sculptures, cannons, clocks and costumes. There are also art objects relating to Croatia’s artistic production over the years.
