Villa Angiolina was once the property of Iginio Scarpa who loved plants and had many of these brought from other countries such as South America and Australia. The park has around 160 species of plants that are distributed throughout sixty “fields”. Also inside the park is the oldest building in Opatija, the Church of St. Jakov. The villa was renovated and restored in 2001, in the neo-classical and biedermeier style.
