The gallery is dedicated to Vlaho Bukovac, an artist who was born in Cavtat but travelled worldwide to paint society portraits in cities such as London and Paris. He became a professor at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. The gallery contains Vlaho Bukovac’s works from his initial portraits of friends and family to pictures of Heaven and Hell. The building itself has some impressive frescoes created by a young Bukovac.
