The archaeological museum is located in the former property of Count Dragutin Draskovic and it was founded in 1846. The museum holds a collection of over 400,000 different artifacts that have been organised into various exhibitions. This museum holds the only Egyptian collection in the area and also has one of the biggest Nuismatic collections in the world. The egyptian collection includes the Zagreb mummy that was wrapped in papyrus, which is inscribed with the oldest text written in Etruscan around.
